The Heritage Trail at Herring Run Park offers glimpses into the lives of the Indigenous, African American, and European people who have used the land and water over the last 11,000 years.It also provides observations about some of the park’s natural features.

This guided tour will give you an opportunity to locate, discuss and ask questions about the 12 sites and stories currently featured on the Heritage Trail Story Map. 

Dr. Lisa Kraus and Jason Shellenhammer, Co-Founders and Project Directors of the Herring Run Archeology Project, will lead historical discussions. Amanda Cunningham, Arborist and FHRP Board Member, will be on hand as co-host to discuss the ecological features of the Park and their connection to its history.
